SSL Certificates allow your customers to make purchases on your website securely. Without an SSL Certificate, you will likely lose customers because they will see your site is not secure and not trust your business. - Payment Gateways (prices and percentages vary)
You probably already have a merchant account that allows you to do business online. But, you will also need a gateway to take the customers information and send it securely to your merchant account for authorization. Authorize.net, FirstData and PayPal Payflow are the most common payment gateways.
